In the battle against climate change, a new weapon has been found – bamboo. Bamboo grows fast, regenerates after harvesting unlike tree, it can replace timber, its tensile strength is greater than that mild steel, it arrests soil degradation, rejuvenates wastelands and degraded lands wastelands and degraded lands and provides sustainable livelihoods. It is a nutrient rich feed for animals, poultry and fish. A hectare of bamboo sequesters more than 12 MT of carbon dioxide from the air. It gives 35% more oxygen than any plant on earth.

We need volunteers to deploy this weapon to increase afforestation and help protect nature. You may work online to research, collect and validate data or chose a bamboo or livelihood project you are passionate about. You’ll work on technologies to increase the use of bamboo globally and also be involved with local communities. Use this opportunity to develop important skills for working in the field you choose. We can help you choose the right area of work.
